Welcome to The Better Part.
AT THE BETTER PART PAPERIE, WE CREATE ARTFULLY DESIGNED STATIONERY TO INSPIRE STILLNESS, WONDER, AND A GENTLE RETURN TO CHOOSING "THE BETTER PART."
What is
"The Better Part"?
The name "The Better Part" is inspired by Luke 10:38-42 - the bible story of Jesus visiting the sisters named Martha and Mary. While hosting Jesus at her home, Martha was distracted by serving, while her sister, Mary, sat at Jesus’ feet listening. In this story, Jesus told Martha that Mary chose "the better part": being still with Him, instead of anxious work.
Inspired by the story of Mary and Martha, we seek to encourage choosing what is better—time spent with the Lord—through paper goods that gently draw hearts toward His presence.

We create stationery that not only fits into your faith practice, but also into your everyday life,
with the hope that our paper goods inspire you to find the Lord wherever you are, and in the midst of whatever stresses your days may bring.
About Emma
THE CREATIVE BEHIND THE BETTER PART PAPERIE
Creating has always been where I feel most myself. With 4 years of formal training in painting, drawing, and printmaking at the University of Texas, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art. In a bit of a plot twist, I then followed what I felt was God’s call to law school to work in anti-human trafficking advocacy. Somewhere in between studying caselaw and mock trials, I met and fell in love with my now husband, Parker. After securing my J.D. and starting my dream job in law, Parker proposed and I had the opportunity to design my own wedding stationery—and completely fell in love with the process. As we settled into married life, and I into my legal career, I found myself missing a creative outlet, which led me to start The Better Part Paperie—a space where artistry, intention, and a love for beautiful paper could come back to life.
Throughout my life, creating art has become a place of prayer and closeness to the Lord. As I paint, I feel inspired by His creativity and guidance. My hope is for every design I create to reflect His beauty, and inspire viewers to be still and be filled with wonder.

LUKE 10:38-42
"Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus’s feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her, then, to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things, but few things are needed—indeed only one. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.”
